Lucky seven!

After our last try didn't work, I took a break from blogging & surrogacy in general.  I had to take a break. The last failed cycle was mentally and physically exhausting. The meds take a toll, and its no fun being in total hormonal overload, with a big crash when the meds stop. It was nice to get back to my "regular" life and take a break for a little while. Jen mentioned in January they'd like to try again, and I was totally on board. I started meds in March and we're all ready to go! This is our 7th try, and hopefully the LAST try!! John needs a sibling!!

As of this moment, the parents have 7 little embryos growing nicely. IVF transfer day is not scheduled yet, possibly Saturday or Monday.

Only 10 days left of BCPs, and I start Lupron shots on 9/16. We are finally moving forward with this cycle after 3 date changes. :)

And again..changed! Pushed 4 more days for an IVF date of October 14-16.

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Our calendar has changed again! We've been pushed to October. The change adds 15 more days of the Pill for me, then shots & other meds start on 9/11. Tentative transfer day is October 7-10.

That's it?

Well, my big box of drugs arrived. Yes, that's it. More anti-climactic than I remember. Yes, I'm excited and nervous at the same time. So glad to help J & B add to their family, and also feeling the "hope it works" pressure. Aug 16th is the official start to our IVF Cycle.

Calendar & drugs!

Well, we are on our way! Jen sent my medication schedule via email today! Freedom Drug called this morning, and all my meds will be here tomorrow. I have to be here to sign for my meds, so I'll be waiting for the Fed Ex guy tomorrow!
So much of surrogacy is a waiting game. My husband's fortune cookie from today's lunch reads "The course of life in unpredictable...no one can write his autobiography in advance." Fitting? Yes. Giving me more patience? NO.
